Tobogganing

We certainly had a wonderful Christmas morning in 2006. It was our first Christmas in our own home—not just the first place we have a mortgage on, but the first time we woke up in our own beds after Christmas Eve. The boys have enjoyed their toys, games, clothes and goodies but as yet had been unable to use their toboggans. This weekend the weather (and my schedule) aligned and we were able to go out to the local hill. Talk about fun! Dylan took the most dangerous routes full of bumps and drainage grates while Noah and I stuck to the gentler slopes. Joshua and Brigs also jumped into the adventure taking even the wipeouts with smile. We even convinced Daria to take a couple of runs which she did with all her athletic ability. Noah hasn’t played too much in the snow so he loved walking the field and sliding down the hills all while Brigs assaulted him with snowballs. I smiled one of my biggest smiles, of late, as I looked out at everyone enjoying themselves. What a great, simple and completely organic experience (minus the plastic sleds). Next time I’ll post some pictures.
