Our dreams are coming true, Boutique Cafe is heading to California!! We’re going to be taping a Video podcast for Boutique Cafe at Disneyland next week!

I’ll be at the park next Tues, Wed, Thursday. If you’re going to be there with your kids, dress them in Boutique, we’ll be watching for you – I’d love to get them into the segment! If you’re a designer this would be a great way to showcase your designs in the happiest place on earth!

We hope to meet several of our Boutique Moms there, and your Disney-kids too!! If you’re going to be in the area, please leave me a comment below and I’ll email you my cell number so we can hook up at the Disneyland park.

See you there! – Daria

***Shhh!!! Don’t tell my kids, they don’t know we’re going there yet!! hee hee

2686860855_23cb5702811.jpg Yesterday was an exceptionally fun day for all of us. My Mom, Sister and her two boys headed down for a visit to enjoy our new pool and have a blast. It was certainly that! We had the best time yesterday playing in the water with all of the kids. Nathan had prepared the night before by running out to purchase a few essential floating water toys (ie: a huge water Sea Saw!).2686792755_c32242b2ff_m.jpg

The weather cooperated perfectly for us, in fact my Mom actually purchased a wet suit at Costco and got in with us. Our favorite new water game is “Whirlpool” where you have tons of people in the pool and you all run in the same direction in a circle. With all that activity it produces a current and when you yell “whirlpool” everybody lays back and enjoys the ride! It’s a total blast and something I hope we’ll get to do with all of our extended family this summer. (don’t miss out!)

The Sea Saw is a fine addition to our collection of water paraphernalia. Nathan and Dylan were the first to try it and man they were intense! They totally got air when they were on it. The kids played on it most of the day, but finally my Mom and I gave it a whirl. I’ve never laughed so hard, my mom was hilarious!! (way to brave it mom).

Later we had a marshmallow roast in our new fire pit. The kids were all standing around cooking theirs when Noah comes outside with a little plastic clothes hanger and a marshmallow on it!! ADORABLE! He just saw that everyone had a hanger and figured any kind would do. 2686859027_6f11390652.jpg

All in all it was a wonderful and wild day. Andrew has stayed a few extra days to play with the kids and they’re having a blast being around each other. This is shaping up to be quite the fun summer for us! 2686812773_52508054b8_m1.jpg

Get ready for the AWESOME-NESS!! We took our boys to see KungFu Panda and they were riveted (including Noah). Thanks to Carolyn (super dental assistant) from Nathan’s office who supplied tickets to the premiere for our whole clan! Nate has some pics of us in the theatre before the show, but they’re on his iphone so I haven’t grabbed them yet.

This is for Dylan:

A Blast of a Weekend

March 10, 2008

Over the weekend we had the sheer delight to have Nathan’s parents, sisters and their adorable kiddos here for a visit. Being with them again made me realize just how homesick for our Calgary family members I had become. It was a wonderful weekend with trampoline bounding, head bumping, ladder climbing (and subsequent falling), water sliding, baby lovin’ action! I absolutely adore my nieces and nephews, they are so full of love and energy. I got so many hugs and kisses, nuzzles from cutie-pie Seger, and Cora really noticed and connected with me for the first time in a girly bonding sort of way. I was in Auntie Heaven!! Evan was all boy and ran around with our kids enjoying all the “guy stuff” we have around here. Freyja is my special little doll and we have a huge love for each other. I’m often treated to stories from Nicole about songs she makes up about me, peppered with frequent phone calls saying “I Lo-ff you Daria!!”. Then Miss Vienna was of course the life of the party, she’s so like her Mommy in looks and in spunk!! LOL!!

When they arrived on Saturday I had picked up a belated Birthday cake for Liz, thinking that it would be a blast for the kids to say that they came to a party at our house. We also had missed being with her on her Birthday and wanted to share the love. On Saturday evening Dad, Nathan, Liz, Nicole and Dylan took all the kids to the Ramada swimming pool and water slides. This meant some much needed visiting time for Mom & I (plus Seger)! We took him with us to Superstore and he was absolute delight in every way. I couldn’t get over what a happy, cheerful, bubbly baby he is…I want him!

On Sunday we went to Aunt Janet’s ward at church to hear Ashley’s homecoming talk from her mission for the church. It was a beautiful talk on sacrifice and I bawled through much of it, I was so touched by all she had learned. Then once that was over we all headed back to Muirhead Manor for some eggs benedict (Dad seemed to be in heaven over that). I was so happy to feed them all and the compliments were much appreciated! We later headed over to Bryan and Janet’s lovely home and enjoyed a delicious dinner. As we drove up to Janet’s house Joshua exclaimed “It’s a Beauty!!” and he’s so right, they’re home is gorgeous! Noah is fully in love with “BABY” (aka Seger) and found great joy in honking his nose and making a very Loud piggy snort. He bawled when “Baby” left and was very upset…mmmmm….that’s all I’m sayin. :)
Here’s a few fave shots from the weekend. True to form my older children are nowhere to be found when the camera comes out. I think someday they’ll be shocked to hear that they were in attendance at any family events at all. If any of you caught my kids on film I wanna know about it! Love you all!

Gingerbread Train

December 5, 2007

gingerbreadtrain.jpgOn Monday evening Nathan arrived back home, after an excruciating absence for another Dental Conference. We were so happy to see him! His presence was even more of a thrill when the children discovered that their Nana had sent along a Gingerbread Train for our family night activity!! They were boundless sources of energy, covered in green and white icing and snuck many a treat into their mouths before the structure had even gone up. We laughed, some cried, some fought over who got to place whichever candy where they wanted. It was gingerbread madness at it’s best. At the end of the evening we had a beautiful little train with candy missing and side panels half eaten.

Ok, on to the “Bad Bad Daria” stuff. I didn’t take pictures. Yes it’s true, I’m sorry Mom. Nathan had killed the battery in Las Vegas and the kids were dying to get going – I just couldn’t put it off till the battery recharged or we would have been train making late into the night. But enough of excuses, I owe you a picture. So here’s what’s left of the gorgeous gingerbread train you sent – as you can see we LOVED it! And it was delicious. LOL!!
