Giving Brangelina A Run For Their Money!
I’ve just signed up for Blog Explosion at the advice of my good friend who blogs JEN THE MOM (her link is on the right side). I’m curious to see how many hits I get and how many new faces will peek in and say hello.
Have a great day and leave a hello comment so I can check out your sites too!
Hey one more thing everyone! Thanks so much for popping by - I’m loving your posts here and checking out everyone’s blogs too! If you’re from BE would you be so kind as to rate my site? Thanks so much! CIAO
OK, I’m not afraid to admit to everyone that I have HORRIBLE pregnancies. I see so many women that breeze thorugh and have no major complaints and I just can’t relate. I seem to be destined to battle constant throwing up, leg cramps that wake me in the middle of the night in agony, swollen ankles, crying at the drop of a hat, contractions a month in advance of my due date (and they are regular and painful too!), not to mention my anemia which causes me to blackout, iron injections twice a week to get my blood pressure up, and the sharp shooting pains I have been experincing in my lower abdomen.
I feel like a total wreck these days and the worst is when someone calls me up and asks that dreaded question “So how are you doing?” I just don’t know what to say. I find myself evaluating whether I should lie to them sugar coat it and say “GREAT!!!” or like I told my friend Maja the other day “Girl, I’m miserable! So how are you doing??”. I seem to at least get a laugh with the second one but I don’t like feeling like a negative person at all. Please don’t get me wrong, I’m so excited to meet this new little person and welcome him to our family. I LOVE BABIES! I just wish I didn’t have to have 4 pregnancies full of torture to get my kids here.
I swear people think I’m insane to be having a new baby right now but I’ve always wanted to have alot of kids. I adore my crazy, energetic children! Anyway, I guess I just needed to vent about these past several months of hospital stays and bedrest with those big old fat feet up on pillows because I know that many women experince dream pregnancies. I’m just not one of them. I hope that through all of it at least I value my children even more because it takes so much out of me to get them here into the world.
Anyway, here’s to the next few weeks of pregnancy, I hope they’ll pass by without too much ruckus but I’m not sure because I’m having consistant 12 minutes apart contractions today so maybe we can get a move on and meet this baby a bit early. GULP!! LOL!
So many of my stories about my kids seem to happen when we’re in the car driving and today is not exception. We were driving along and on the radio comes the Shania Twain - Party for Two song. I look in the rear view mirror and Joshy is “rockin’ out” to the music. It was darling! Then Shania says in the song “SHAKE IT, SHAKE IT!” and Joshy pipes up ” Mommy - SHAKE IT! Shake it MOM! You can do it!” I totally cracked up - so I kinda bobbed along and swung my hands in the air with him. He says “Good job Mom! Good Shakin’!”
I now have implemented the Pregnant WADDLE walk into my repetoire! I dropped off the boys at my friend Debbie’s this morning and she was cracking up as I hobbled up the front walkway to the door. I swear this baby is just going to fall out. I’m thinking I may need to start crawling just to get around - wouldn’t that be hilarious!

I was up in the night several times with Brigs, he just wouldn’t settle at all due to his cough and cold right now. I finally got into bed but the wind was just wild outside and our screen doors were banging against the house so loudly I was sure it was keeping not only me awake but all of our neighbours. I asked Nathan if he could please run downstairs and close the screen doors to which is response was. “I’m going right now, I’m on my way” - 15 minutes passed and he didn’t budge. I rolled over and asked him again and his reply was “Honey I’m working on it.” …3 minutes pass
“NATHAN! Honey seriously could you please go close those doors they are driving me nuts and I’ve been up and down the stairs like 7 times already”.
“Daria, I think it would be better if I just worked on it on Saturday” he says “I’m in the middle of all this work right now and it’s just not working out. Is Saturday ok with you?”
“Nate, you mean you want me to wait until Saturday for you to take your butt out of bed and close the door???” I said giggling.
“I’m on the phone now honey, let’s talk about it on Friday” he says in reply.
Needless to say I pulled my own butt out of bed and closed the doors!!!
Attention Nathan’s family members - do you have stories to share about Nathan talking in his sleep to you? I know that he comes from a long line of sleep talkers but man the guy can carry on a whole conversation and I’m never really sure if he’s asleep or just being impossible. LOL!
Well I guess I am not considered a crash test dummy by my kids. Yesterday while in the car little Joshy saw another car ahead of us and yelled “Look out mommy. Watch out!” Dylan then patted his shoulder and said “It’s ok Joshy, Mom’s a Professional!!”
This last weekend was so much fun! In Canada it is our Thanksgiving and our family decided to celebrate it on Saturday so we’d have a few days to lounge about and eat turkey and left overs and take naps! My parents drove out to see us over the weekend and the little boys were in heaven, Nan brought tons of fun things for them to play with and do - umm did I mention that she brought homemade pies too?? My Mom is a master at making perfect pastry and to me this weekend was no exception. We laughed and talked and played and it was beautiful weather to boot so all in all it was a great weekend. Mom and Auntie Elaine worked hard on the meal as I had a few scarey blackouts due to my pregnancy and had to stay in bed or pretty close to it. It was such a special time to have my Aunt and Uncle join us for dinner as well in our home. We have so much to be thankful for in our lives, we feel so blessed and love having a day to really focus and reflect on what’s important to us. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Here’s the set I designed and have up for auction!

Well everyone I’m 32 weeks and 1 day pregnant and my feet have started to swell. This isn’t a new phenomenon for me, but typically it happens sooner in my pregnancies. My left foot and ankle like to swell up and get huge! Oh I hate it, and I have been off my feet quite a bit today but it’s not helping. I’ve tried elevating but as soon as I put my feet down the fluid goes right back into my ankle. I’m finding that I’m getting breathless much easier these days and it doesn’t help that we have so many stairs in our home. Nathan loves the stairs though because he says that I look really great right now since I have to run up and down them all day after the kids or to get the phone. I’m tickled that I am not gaining weight in my face or body yet, I just pretty much have this really cute protruding tummy and look normal otherwise -well except for the ankle now!! ![]()
I usually have gained fullness in my face and stuff but I guess I’m just lucky so far. Anyway, I know that I need Nathan to take some preggo shots of me soon while I still feel cute! The next few weeks are going to be interesting for sure, it’s going by really fast now and I admit that I’m a bit scared to have a new baby when I already have three little boys at home. I’m sure they’ll love him to bits though and hopefully this baby will turn so we don’t have to go down the c-section path to delivery. I go to my doctor today for my check up so we’ll see if junior has decided to turn or not. I hope so!!!!!
Joshy just ran up and sat on my lap. He took my face in his hands and pushed my cheeks forward to make a big fish kissy face …”MOMMY!!! I FOUND NEMO!!” he said. He totally cracked me up.
