Hanging with my sweet little Valentine – she brings me so much joy!

If you haven’t noticed yet, I am totally in love with my baby girl. Brigs took these pics of me and Lola today, he was quite proud of them.

Our baby girl has recieved so many lovely gifts since she was born! I am going to try to feature her wearing them as quickly as I can. This darling hat was made by Jennifer Cirka of Jaybird Designs. Jennifer and I have known each other in the boutique community for many years, and I was thrilled to have something special that this talented gal has made for my little girl. It’s definitely going to be a treasured heirloom for Lola. Thanks so much Jennifer!

Finally I have photographic proof that Noah indeed is smitten with his sister Lola, (he’s just been camera shy about it). Noah is crazy about her and so soft and tender. He comes to me 10 times a day and tells me “Mommy I LOVE my Lola!”

It’s precious to see your children love each other, what could be better?!

1. Her eyes may not be turning to brown afterall, they are looking mighty blue these days. We’d love her to have what we call the “killer combination” of dark hair and blue eyes.

2. When she is hungry she snorts like a little piglet until she gets nursed. It’s hysterical and the kids laugh so hard when she gets hungry – it’s pretty obvious that it’s nursing time.

3. Lola has the most gorgeous long fingers. Her hands are lovely and slender. I’m tickled that she seems to have my hands, but hers might be even more feminine than mine if it’s possible.

4. She knows me. She already knows my voice and the instant she hears me she starts squawking for me to pick her up. Even if she’s content in Nathan or Dylan’s arms, if she hears me it’s pretty much all over.

5. She can produce gas like a trooper!! LOL! Funny but true, the kid has pretty loud emissions. I’m just sayin’

6. Lola loves to touch her face. I knew this about her when I was still pregnant with her. I could always feel her little crazy hands in constant motion. She LOVES to touch her face, and needs her nails filed down frequently because those tiny nails are sharp.

7. She’s already a SPA girl!! Yes Sir, That’s my baby – Lola revels in bath time and the moment she feels the bath water touch her toes she tries to sprawl right out and relax. She’ll shoot her legs out to try to get in the water as quickly as possible. She also is crazy about getting massages with baby lotion. Rub those tiny feet and she totally calms down.

8. She likes music. I play music for her on the iPhone at night and I also hum to her right up against her cheek when she’s upset. The humming works to calm Lola down and she listens intently to whatever is going on musically. It’s awesome!

9. She has power over men! I can’t believe how quickly this little lady has whipped our entire household of boys into mush. That includes her Daddy who is wrapped around her little finger. I’m already picturing him singing to her at her wedding someday (be there!).

10. And last but not least. Every day of nauseousness, 9 months of puking all day, IV’s, bed rest, hospital stays, late nights, and worry was all worth it to have her in my life. I’m so happy she’s mine and she finally made it here.

We have a new baby girl and still managed to decorate the house for the holidays! Yay for helpful husbands!! I’m super excited about our new tree this year, and a few special new ornaments for the tree (check out the yummy cupcake one from: GigiMinor on Etsy!)

Our tree is decked out in pink & red (with a hint of lime green here and there). It’s pretty and feminine, I’m crazy about it and so it Lola! The boys like the red parts of the tree, and think that the pink is tolerable. LOL!! Kidding, they don’t mind the pink at all.

December 10th, 2009 brought me the happiest day – it was the day I finally looked upon the sweetest little face in the world. We welcomed our long awaited/highly anticipated daughter Lola Olivia Muirhead to our family.

Born at 9:52 pm and weighing 6 pds 5 ounces, 20 inches long. Lola has beautiful dark hair (it curls a bit when it’s wet) and gorgeous long fingers that are so dainty. I’m quite tickled that my girl has my hands! But that is where the comparison to me stops, she is SO much like her Daddy. She has his cute ears, his coloring, and we’re thinking her eyes will be brown too. The jury is still out on what her eye color will be.

The boys have been utterly in love and adorable with Lola, they are so tender when holding her and speaking of her. I feel beyond blessed that after all these years my little girl has come to us. I love the precious days after having a new baby, there’s nothing more perfect than feeling that love all around you. Nathan and I are so in love, I just adore him so much and feel lucky to have him as the amazing father of my children that he is. He’s been my rock through these long 9 months of HyperEmesis, and with daily sickness he has not only braved having a sick wife but has been loving and incredible in his constant support of me. Now that Lola is here the sickness has instantly disappeared and I’m reveling in the joy that I can eat without being sick, it’s awesome!! Finally a full week without throwing up many times a day, my body is happy and so am I.

I’ll share more about Lola’s birth later, but right now I just wanted to shout from the rooftops that I have a gorgeous little girl who lights up my days with happiness.
