Thankful

November 7, 2007

N A T e I just have to blog-rave about my husband Nathan. Lately I have really noticed his efforts to make me feel loved and appreciated. He goes out of his way to do something sweet at the most critical time for me, whether it’s a big hug, a comforting word of encouragement or just cleaning the entire kitchen to ease my day.

I feel so lucky to have such an incredible man in my life who supports me in everything I do, and cheers me on all of the time. He rarely says “no” to me, instead he is just the poster child for Cheerleader when it comes to me. The biggest thrill for me is that lately he has really taken the time to notice the things I do and doesn’t just let it go by, but he makes sure I know that he’s proud. That has got to be the hottest quality ever, when your man thinks you’re a Superstar! :)

If I didn’t have Nathan there’s no way I could attempt to do anything close to what I am able to right now in life. He’s my rock, my safe harbor and my best friend. Now that’s not to say that he’s perfect, he can have the occasional “man brain blip” like most guys :) , but I’m so thankful for his efforts to show me he loves me. I couldn’t ask for more than what he is!

I’m CRAZY about Him!

Married 7 years this weekend and I’m still crazy in love with my man!

Music and Lyrics

April 11, 2007

My Sweet Nathan took me out on a date last night to see “Music and Lyrics” at the cheap theatre. It was so fun to get out together and when the movie started with this 80’s style music video I knew I was going to love this movie! Hugh Grant is positively hilarious. If you’re not a child of the 80’s then you may not fully appreciate how bang on the music is in this movie. I loved the exchanges between Hugh and Drew Barrymore’s characters as well, the dialogue is just funny. And Hugh Grant is adorable in this movie. Nathan and I were seriously in stitches and want to see it again just to catch more of the lines we missed. :)

Ah yes, what a lovely flash back. The story is sweet and the music is awesome. It’s not an Academy Award type of show, it’s a feel good movie and you’ll definitely walk out smiling. We did!

“A TWIST OF FATE MAKES LIFE WORTHWHILE YOU ARE GOLD AND SILVER” I’ve watched the music video opening about 20 times already. Enjoy!

Think again Mister!!

Um ok, so I’ve been at home alone with the four boys since Wednesday and Nate is scheduled to drop-in for some much needed parent relief later this evening. He’s finally coming home from his most recent Big Adventure to Vancouver for another dental conference. I sure as heck hope he had a good time because it’s been an interesting 24/7 kind of week, and I need someone to say “way to go honey, you rocked the single mom life this week! Now go shop, bubble bath, and party your way to personal happiness for a few hours!”

Shall I take votes on whether I hear this most joyous of expressions?

Nate in Niagara

February 17, 2007

It’s been an interesting weekend with Nathan away. He left on Thursday for the romantic destination of Niagara Falls, but no romance for Nate he’s flying solo. My hubby is attending a cool dental course out there and is pumped about how great it was. Sadly he missed his flight home last night (see his blog soon for details I’m sure) and is now stuck midway home in Montreal. I look forward to the opportunity to be able to travel with him sometime – he’s so fun on vacation! I can’t wait to see him, when he’s out of town it’s so clear to me how much I miss him and need him. His presence is so key to the way our family functions, plus I don’t sleep well without him there. Luckily I have Noah eager to sleep next to me on Nate’s pillow and kick me in the face throughout the night. We keep in close contact through the wonders of the technical age, it’s so amazing to be able to iChat and email with someone when they’re hours and hours away! I love the computer. It’s also fun to read the messages he’ll send over, cute flirty little messages that make me feel so special to him. So until he gets home I’m going to cuddle up with my kids today and watch the mountain of movies that I rented to keep me entertained in the evenings if I just couldn’t manage to fall asleep without him here. Good News, I was able to grab a few hours of rest and now my precious Joshua is suggesting that we “Go and Make Laundry!” LOL!! What a great idea, some clean clothes are just what this family needs, he’s his father’s son to be sure.

Nickname

February 15, 2007

I have decided to call Nathan Muffin-lump, it’s endearing and makes him laugh. Oh, it made you laugh too? Bonus!

TODAY is Nathan’s last of a bevy of dental exams then it’s a few glorious weeks of having hubby around again before convocation and his official new title of Dr. added to his name. Soon our mail will be addressed Dr. & Mrs. – hilarious! I am so so proud of my amazing man. Dental school is no picnic or walk in the park, it’s years of sacrifice for him in some of the other delights of life, as well as being a constant stress worrying if your brain can possibly hold one more thing! I’ve watched Nathan change over the past few years, some of the changes I like (some I don’t!) LOL! I am so grateful to have him as my husband, I honestly could not be more proud. I’m beaming today with gratitude for his hard work and excited for his new profession to begin. I have no doubt that Nathan can do anything and succeed at it, he’s just got that “it” factor! Here’s my sweetheart – on top of the world!!

Is that a compliment? lol!! I heard this recently from my hubby after we disagreed about something. When he said that we totally cracked up laughing. I said ” I don’t think that’s quite the compliment that you think it is!! LOL. It implies that I’m wrong but you love me in spite of it.”
Anyway we had a really good laugh about it, but what do you think? Is that a HUGE compliment or is it a way of saying, “I’m right but I’ll be quiet now and look over your serious wrong-ness”?

Let’s have a little poll, but if you disagree with me I want you all to know that I love you more than I need you to agree with me! ;)

5th Anniversay

August 14, 2005

On Friday Nathan and I celebrated our 5th Anniversary. It’s been a fun benchmark year to sit back and reflect on all that has happened in the past 5 years and though in the course of a lifetime 5 years may seem small, we’ve jam packed family action into each year with Dylan being adopted by Nathan and three little babies together – all that plus Dental School, moving several times, a few fun companies that we started through our entrepreneurial interestes, podcasting, blogging, visits to family and an occasional date night. Yes life is good, we’re happy and I can honestly say that I’m still head over heels in love with the guy. Make no mistake, I know that he’s not perfect – that naive notion left me awhile ago (hee hee) but there are so many qualities and experinces that we have shared together that make me realize how I love him more now than I did on the day we wed. For instance:
I love that we daily laugh ourselves silly over things, he always makes me laugh and smile even 5 years later.
I love that he is adoring of me and our children, he can be tender and attentive.
I love that he is a wonderful example to me in so many ways, I enjoy his company – I like being around him. Plus the guy is hot – trust me! :) (good genes!)

We went out to eat dinner at a place called the Granary and it was wonderful, the food was excellent and the service was impressive. We even went out shopping and Nathan bought me a gorgeous dress that I totally love! The best part was just hanging out together and reflecting on our wedding day. I love that day, it was so perfect and I hope to blog a personal entry about the details of that day so I always have it.
Well life is good, I am proudly and gratefully married to a guy I adore and who shows me constantly that he loves me back. What a blessing to be happy, sometimes it’s the daily things that perhaps we don’t always notice that bring us the most joy. Having a companion that you enjoy being with makes all the mundane things of daily life so much brighter. Happy Anniversary Honey – I love you so much! XOXOXO

For Nathan’s benefit

August 3, 2005

While we were driving home the other day I was looking up at the sky, the clouds were full and white so beautiful. I blissfully leaned over to Nathan and said “You know honey, I wonder if God sometimes puts pictures in the clouds just to see if we are paying attention?” His reply “Honey, you’re gonna have to BLOG that quote!” LOL!
