This month my big baby boy turned 17! Can you believe that he’s that old already? I’m dying here.
As part of his Birthday gift we wanted to spend some time with our boy and make memories with him. We decided to take him (and Lola) out to visit Victoria in British Columbia. The three little boys stayed in Calgary with their Nana and Papa for several jam packed days of crafting, movies, cousins, frogging and fun!! (Thank you again Mom and Dad for taking them – they are still buzzing about all the fun they had with you!)
We arrived late at night but that didn’t discourage us from going out. We checked into our little hotel room on the Inner Harbor and walked downtown (Lola in tow) to check out the city. We found a waffle place that was open late at night and had delicious waffles around midnight.
Our adventures over the next few days included Whale Watching, exploring the island, shopping, eating at many delicious restaurants (The Blue Fox for Breakfast, Haultain Fish and Chips), walking the beaches, spotting an adorable family of seals bobbing in the ocean near us, and Zip Line/Bunjee Jumping.
I loved our trip, the entire time I felt emotional thinking about how my son is growing up so quickly. Soon things will change once again and trips alone with him won’t be happening. I’m so happy that we took this opportunity to vacation and enjoy him, he is so funny!! I hope you enjoy the little video I’ve put together to remember our adventures.
Here it is!!! Photographic evidence that my sweet baby brother and his adorable girlfriend Andrea visited us this past weekend! We had such a marvelous time with them, they are such a wonderful couple and so in love with each other. Their new baby is due to arrive in August, and we are so excited to meet her. My brother has always been so special to me, I love him with all my heart. It’s so joyful to see him happy and to get to know Andrea even better – she’s a total keeper!
Thanks for coming to see us you guys – we love you
Lola Olivia is our little Angel. I can’t believe how grown up and beautiful she is, sometimes she takes my breath away. At 15 months old she is busy, talkative, spunky, happy (most of the time), and utterly kissable. I’m not sure what I ever did to deserve her, but boy am I grateful that she is ours.
This has been a week of rebirth, changes and new carpet! Not only are we redoing our flooring in the house, but we’re also getting rid of the old green countertops and yucky backsplash in our kitchen. To make my point even further that change is sweet thing, I chopped 5 inches off of my hair yesterday (well I didn’t, my hairstylist/darling buddy Cheryl did). I LOVE IT!! It was time to embrace the Spring, and get rid of that straggly long hair, I have been wanting a change but finally got the guts to do it. I highly recommend a cute haircut – go and treat yourselves to a new you!
I feel like a completely different girl, bear with me if you see me glancing in the mirror alot over the next few days. I still can’t believe that I’m me!
