Little Miss Prays for Us

December 12, 2008

One of the tender things I’ve learned from “Little Misses” foster Grandma is that our little girl prays for us each night! I teared up when I learned that she says prayers and mentions each of us by name (as well as she can say them).

Little Miss has our family pictures beside her bed, and names us all “Mommy, Daddy, Dylan, Joshy, Brigs and Noah!”. She’s learning our names!!!!!! EEEK how totally exciting.

I’m so anxious to see her again, it’s getting harder and harder to be away. Can’t wait till Christmas holidays when we can be with her more steadily. In the mean time I’ve satisfied myself with some retail therapy that will benefit her new wardrobe! She is so beautiful, I know that she will look gorgeous in anything – but I’ve waited a LONG time for her and I’m thrilled to finally have a chance to buy girly, frilly, pink, stuff!!!! I told my MIL yesterday that I’m “Working on her Closet” to which I got some hilarious laughter.

Here is our sweet little girl that will soon be joining our family! We spent the bulk of this past weekend with her, visiting, dancing and playing. The boys got to meet Little Miss for the first time and it went very well. They can’t wait to take her home and either can I! Our paperwork is in, the case worker is totally onboard, and given us the green light to bond with her to our hearts content. What joy!! Isn’t she adorable??

I’ll share more details as I’m able to over the coming weeks. We get to spend loads of time with her over the holidays and on Christmas Day!

Details I can share are that she is 18 months old, loves to dance, has darling natural curly ringlet hair. We’re so blessed!!

My awe-inspiring friend Nena is doing a festive, holly, jolly, Giveaway in time for the holidays. She created this stunning glittering Santa on Canvas valued at approx. $175.00 – and now Santa is looking for a new home. I’m publicly offering him a warm and cozy home with our family, but sadly all of the begging in the world won’t work because she’s drawing a “random” winner. I will still try to butter Nena up though, can’t blame a girl for trying. :)

My favorite new book this holiday season is called “Bear Stays Up For Christmas” by Karma Wilson. This is the perfect story to cuddle up with and read with a lap full of children. Full of beautiful charming illustrations, rhyming story, and heartwarming acts of friendship.

“Bear’s friends are determined to keep Bear awake for Christmas! So they wake Bear up and have him help them find a Christmas tree, bake cakes, hang up stockings, and sing Christmas songs. Bear stays up — by discovering that giving is one of the best Christmas presents!”

I snagged my copy at our local Winners store for under $10 (I think it was closer to five bucks). If you see it, be sure to grab your family a copy too! The kids will love it.
