Giving Brangelina A Run For Their Money!
While in Calgary last week I was invited to attend the Premiere of The Opus movie. Many are calling this a follow up to “The Secret” but in fact The Opus delves even further into how to create the life and legacy you desire. The original cast of The Secret have joined in this amazing movie, including some new faces and the result was inspiring and uplifting. I was enthralled with the music, storyline and of course the bevy of motivational masters involved in this project (including: Douglas Vermeeren, Jack Canfield, Joe Vitale, John Demartini, Marci Shimoff, Mark Victor Hansen, Morris Goodman and many many more). The Opus was masterfully pulled together and produced by motivational speaker Douglas Vermeeren (who also is a long time friend of mine). The evening was a huge success and jam packed with a captivated audience. I spoke with several people afterwards and asked their feelings on the movie, to which my questions were met with enthusiasm and high praise. I was also thrilled to have the opportunity to meet Marci Shimoff a keynote speaker and author who was a cast member in both The Secret and The Opus.

PRESS RELEASE by Stan Romero
THE OPUS
It’s not a secret anymore… The Next step has arrived.
From Vision To Plan To Performance.
The new motivational self help film has had its debut and the results are in. The Opus screened to sold out audiences in Canada and rave reviews. The two screenings in both Calgary and Edmonton had over 1500 and 1000 people in attendance respectively. Since those screenings internet blogs have been a buzz with thoughts from attendees like “This is the greatest personal development film ever.†“More practical tools than any other movie,†and “This film actually gave me the stuff needed to change my life.†(Google “The Opus Movie†and you’ll get a taste of what I mean.)
Producer, director and motivational speaker Douglas Vermeeren is pleased. But feels the project isn’t yet where we would like to see the finished product. “There are still a few things I would like to tighten up and tweak before we get to Chicago on May 1.†May 1st, 2008 is slated to be the official US premiere of the film, although the film will be screening for another sold out audience in Las Vegas later this month. “May 1st is a special day for us as it will be the first time we can share the film with the US public. And many of our cast, crew and speakers will be present for Chicago.â€
Critics and laymen alike agree that this film is definitely the practical answer that everyone has been looking for since the 2006 release of the new age advice film The Secret. An internet Blogger who identified himself as “Jacob L.†said it this way: “ The Opus is by far the best personal development movie ever. For the first time we have a film that delivers instead of just playing around with abstract ideas and non sense concepts. The Opus is practical, informative, entertaining, powerful and effective.â€
And I wholeheartedly agree.

As one who also attended, I must say that I was pleasantly surprised.
Frankly I expected that it would be a sales pitch for motivational products, as these things often are. They tend to give a lot of hype with a few great anecdotes and then leave you a) wanting more and hence willing to buy, or b) annoyed that you came for content and all you got was hype while losing an hour of your life that you won’t get back!
In my opinion, The Opus is a simple little movie, but the message was sound. It is particularly unique in that the various contributors offered steps to follow and it had actual, stand alone, helpful content.

I have been following the story of the Opus for sometime and finally had a chance to see it in Scottsdale Arizona. What an Amazing film! It really is as good as everyone is claiming. I was so pleasantly surprised. What a treat. At the event several of the speakers from the film were also present. They were all very ejoyable to listen to a all valuable and wise teachers. My favorite however, was the creator of the film Douglas Vermeeren. He was the best speaker of the day. I could feel his “power” “Energy” “Enthusiasm” (Whatever you want to call it) the very second he stepped on the stage. He had a relevant and precise message that has REALLY made a difference in my day to day work and thinking. Something that I rarely see from other motivational people I have listened to. He was definitely the highlight of the day for me as far as the live part goes.
The event was awesome!

I saw the previews of The Opus on the internet. I want to see it very badly. Is there going to be a screening in Lethbridge anytime soon?

I have read that there is a lady in the States that ran a clothing store and was able to increase her monthly sales to over 2 million dollars by applying the principles of The Opus. Have you heard about this? Andf do you know what she did specifically that got such great results?
