That’s MY Boy!!!

April 8, 2005

Dylan my son has just excitedly entered the world of blogging. I’m so proud of him that he wants to journal some of his life experinces as a 10 year old. He’s such a sweet boy, so pop by his blog and find out why Dylan is INCREDIBLE!!

Dylan’s NEW Blog

Yep – I went out and got a new cordless phone but it’s not staying here. The phone is WAY too quiet and only goes up to level 4 on the volume – you gotta be kidding me I need it at least at level 8 or 9 in order to hear anything around this house while I’m on the phone. Back to the store I go! If you have a cordless phone that you love please give me the model and make!! Thanks Darlings!!

My New LOVE!

I can’t hold it in any longer, I’m going to burst! No I don’t need to pee, I need to share. OK I admit that I have a tendancy to get obsessed with new and creative things. I am totally head over heels in downright old fashioned L O V E with Digital scrapbooking. I can’t share my pages with you right now as some of them are TOP SECRET – shhhhhh! But I can tell you that this medium of creative art is right up my alley and I love it. Basically you just do everything with photoshop which I already have a good handle on. Did you know that there are free kits out there on the internet that you can just download and pop your pics into, add some text, print and voila!! Scrapbook page ala fast, cheaper and not bulky. You can get the “look” of bulky pages but fit way more of them in your albums. I’m scrapping 8×8 pages as I can crop them down and print them off on my own home computer and the size is actually awesome not too big and it’s still the trendy square as opposed to the traditional 8 1/2 x 11. You don’t need photo paper, you can even use Georgia-Pacific white cardstock for a matte looking page (walmart $5.99 for 500 sheets!) ROCKIN’. So get out there, buy Photoshop and learn how to use it cuz the wave in scrapbooking is shifting to digital – I’m so excited I can hardly stand it!

I’ve HAD it!!!

If you’ve ever phoned my house you know that it’s an event if you actually get to talk to me. Our cordless phone is wonky and has been for months so the only option is running up or down the stairs to the kitchen wall phone and trying to have a discussion while my children hang off and tangle themselves in the cord. If I actually make it to the phone before the answering machine picks up that’s a miracle too since I usually have babies in my arms, a load of laundry to fold and I’m working on the computer at the same time. There are many times too when I just allow the call to go by without answering because if I pick it up then I’m STUCK there attached to a cord that’s 3 feet long and I can’t get anything done. Don’t get me wrong, your call is important to me – I need people, contact, communication!! I just need to be able to be a FREE RANGE Mommy while I talk. Finally after months of my Moms and Maggie begging and pleading with me to go out and get a cordless phone I finally broke down this morning. I couldn’t take it anymore, Joshy was swinging and spinning in the cord while I was talking to Debbie and even managed to trip me – that’s it! I’m done! You only have to tell me 50 or 60 times and I’ll quickly take the hint that this just isn’t working. Yep I’m a fast learner so just try to keep up :)
I went to staples, I bought a phone, it’s charging now – I’m gonna call everyone I know later today while I walk freely about my house.

On Friday night Dylan was invited to a fun sleepover at his friends house. We decided to take Joshy, Brigs and Noah to the swimming pool and play with them (make them tired :) ) so off we went at 8:30 pm. The pool was pretty busy but the kids didn’t mind, they were so excited to be there. Noah looked totally precious in his little infant swim trunks with all those cute little baby fat rolls that he has going on. He looked kind of shocked at first as we got into the water but soon he was smiling, gooing and enjoying it every bit as much as his bigger brothers. Nathan and Joshy went on the water slide together – Joshy was just beaming, you can’t beat that – SPEED, A SLIDE AND HIS DADDY with him! Noah fell asleep in my arms with all the noise and people splashing by us so I wrapped him up in a towel and sat in a chair at the side of the pool watching Nathan enjoy his little boys. He was so awesome with them, showing Joshy how to put his face in the water and blow bubbles, letting them jump into his arms and chasing them around the circular pool pretending to be a shark as they screamed and giggled and tried to ride on his back. What an incredible Dad – I totally fell in love with him even more in that moment as I watched him in his role as Dad and how he was fun and attentive and tender with his children. Getting them out of the pool, dried off, showered down, and dressed was an interesting experince to say the least, thankfully I had all those fun images in my head of my kids being cute in the pool to offset the screaming, crying and running around naked in the changeroom. (oh and Joshy deciding to pee down the shower drain! UGGGH! ). FUN FUN FAMILY FUN! LOL!

If any of you own the New INCREDIBLES movie on DVD (which totally rocks btw) then you have the second disk as well that contains the Pixar short film called BOUNDIN’.
My kids are totally in CRAZY LOVE with Boundin’ and that cute little lamb that dances around and gets shaved! LOL! There’s a link to the Pixar site if you haven’t seen it with your kids it’s adorable and has the best message too. Just wanted to share.
BOUNDIN’
