How did you get here?

March 14, 2005

Hey ya’ll I’m just curious which method you used to find my site today. If you could post a hello and let me know if it’s through Blog Explosion, Blog Clicker, or Blogazoo or some other obscure method that would be great. Hope you’ll stay awhile and read and post too! Welcome :)

Productive Weekend

March 13, 2005

I feel so great, I’ve really had the chance to get alot accomplished this weekend. On Friday night after our movie date I ended up staying awake till 2:00 am organizing my sewing room, folding fabric, organizing ribbon etc. It was so wonderful to get that space under control and beautiful again. Now I walk downstairs and my cupboards are full of all this gorgeous folded fabric and it makes me happy – yep I’m a loon I guess! :)
On Saturday I tackled the nursery a place that looked like a bomb went off in it since we came home from Christmas. I went through all the kids clothing and boxed the clothes that they have outgrown, I’ve done a “power laundry” weekend until every stitch of clothing we own is washed, folded and yes I’ll say it even put away! My Mommy would be so proud of me. Nathan and I painted our full length mirror for our bedroom in a bright pink to match the pinks, oranges, reds and yellows in our duvet cover. The room has this beautiful golden glow to it all of the time now and it’s a place that we love to relax in now. I haven’t spent alot of time in my room lately but once we redecorated it a bit it has become a real haven and a fun place for us to hang out and talk, laugh, dream. I highly recommend having a space in your home where you can feel inspired like that and that makes you happy when you enter it.
We all went to church today, it was a wonderful Sunday. I felt really happy to be there and see the people in my church. I felt edified in many ways today and think it’s so important to get a perspective that is beyond our immediate circle sometimes. I find that many times I get caught up in the things of my life that are readily pressing and don’t devote enough time to my faith and beliefs – something I want to work on.
I took Noah to the walk in clinic today, his cough and fever had me so concerned that he might have possible phenomena or like I posted yesterday croup. It turns out that our little man has a bad ear infection and a little bit of a lung infection. He’s on some antibiotics now and sleeping peacefully on the couch like a little bundle. I’m so glad that I took him in to get checked right away. I worry alot about his lungs since he was in NICU right after birth and on the respirator, it’s just one of those things that I stress about because I don’t want him to have any kind of breathing issues. There is some asthma in Nathan’s side of the family and I hope he doesn’t ever have to experience what I know his Nana goes through.
I was cuddling up with Noah on the couch putting him to bed tonight and happened across the program called Celtic Woman on PBS. The music was INCREDIBLE and I’m dying to own the recording of it. It was a program comprised of some popular and best loved songs with kind of an Enya type twist to them. They were beautifully done and I loved the clear, pure sound of their voices singing. Definitely going to own that one in the near future.
Well that’s my weekend – hope yours was great too!

Baby Noah is sounding like a little croaky frog and is just miserable. I think he must have the croup cuz he sounds awful and has a fever too! Poor little guy is not happy one bit and either is his Mommy. I can’t handle it when my babies are sick, you just feel so helpless when they can’t tell you exactly what aches and what makes them feel better. If anyone has some croup advice I’d love to hear it. I’m going to take him in to the clinic tonight just to make sure he’ll be ok. Noah sends his little croaky kisses your way.

I’ve excitedly made the switch to word press 1.5 and I’m loving it. I just wanted to let you know because one of the features is that if someone posts I have to approve their first post on the blog – from that point on you can post to your hearts delight and it will go directly onto the blog but if you’re new here since the update you won’t see what you’ve written until I have a second to approve it in the moderation Que. (yes that was a horrible run on sentence but hey I’m a busy mom so bear with me) :)
If you scroll down you can now use the Theme Switcher function to try out some different looks for the blog – like skins. They are really fun and I’m excited to try more soon. Thanks to my hubby Nathan for adding the Spring Fairy one for me and making it more customized. If you find any cool new themes for word press 1.5 be sure to let me know where to look.

Babblings of Daria

March 11, 2005

It’s been awhile since I’ve written a serious post. Not for lack of things going on, or for lack of time – I guess I just haven’t been totally inspired by recent events to blog about something and make it interesting as heck to share with “my public” (hilarious writing that!).
I’ve had some depression – baby blues related depression and it’s sometimes hard to find the humor in things that I normally find funny. I love to share those things here but I can’t be humorous all of the time – that’s just too much pressure. So I just wanted to update and say that I’m still working feverishly on my home and my organizing habits, I feel like things are really paying off for me in this area. There are so many places to get under control here but I just keep going step by step and try to do something new each day – Ooops I just broke my rule and used the word “try” – I’m not trying, I am doing!! There that’s better, I was gonna have to kick my own butt there for a moment. :0)
Last night I felt like I’d fallen off the organization wagon, I talked to Maja and she helped me realize that I hadn’t at all in fact I could still make the day a total success by just doing something small before going to bed. I decided to tackle the cupboard under my kitchen sink (crazy girl that I am) it took less than 5 minutes but what a difference knowing that it’s in order and the junk is gone! YAY ME!
Tonight Nathan and I went to a movie – we haven’t been to one in so long. It was “In Good Company” with Topher Grace, Denis Quaid and Scarlett Johansson. I liked the show, it was cute and had some good messages in it about learning from those around you who have had more life experince than you etc. It had some funny moments but I wasn’t too thrilled with the ending – I usually like a good romantic ending to most movies just to make me smile as I leave the theatre. It was wonderful to get out of the house tonight and be with Nathan, even though you don’t really get any deep meaningful conversation going on during a movie it was a good time and Noah was a dream to take. People are so drawn to him, he’s definitely a charmer – they always want to touch his hair and love his cheeks and his eyes. But then he starts to flirt and smile and that is when the kid just stops traffic – can you tell I’m totally in love?
Well hope your Friday night has been great – night night.

Sweet Joshua

March 11, 2005

While sitting on my lap today Joshy saw a picture of Nathan’s Grandma with Dylan. He said “Mommy – who’s that?”
“That’s Dylan with your Great Grandma” I said
“I LOVE THAT GRANDMA!!!” he said emphatically

too cute – I love that kid and had to share this story especially with Nathan’s Dad. :)

Perhaps I need Botox!

March 10, 2005

Twice within the past few days I’ve been sitting across the room from Joshy. He’ll quickly come over to me and look into my eyes and say “Mommy don’t look mad” while he smooths my forehead with his chubby little hands! I’m thinking that perhaps my face is aging and wrinkling cuz I promise I didn’t have an angry look on my face.
