Giving Brangelina A Run For Their Money!
I have to admit that when my son told me that he was going to tell jokes in the talent show at school I was a bit concerned. Especially when I found out that they were going to be knock-knock jokes - it almost seemed like a recipe for disaster to me. I just didn’t want anyone to be mean to my baby boy and I was worried that he wouldn’t come off as funny. I pictured all those little talented kids up there who have their entire lives jam packed with lessons. I know my kid is talented, he’s just shy about it sometimes so I felt the fear for him this morning. He woke up an hour early for school and got ready - we dropped off my 3 year old and 2 year old and headed to his school with baby Noah in tow. The kids in his class did quite well, a few boys did a dueling guitar performance of “smoke on the water” - it was really good. There were kids playing piano, tap dancing, clogging etc.but I have to say one of the highlights was my son!! He was comfortable with the microphone, memorized his jokes and his delivery of them was bang on. He was animated and funny - even though the jokes weren’t great material the kid was awesome and everyone laughed and clapped for him. I was so proud to see my boy up there strutting his stuff! Afterwards a few parents came up to me and said they thought that Dylan did really awesome and that he was really great up there in front of all those people. I was beaming from ear to ear. Great job Dylan - you surprise me sometimes with your humor and charisma!!
After their class performance Dylan got to introduce his baby brother to his whole class, he is so great with his brother and loved getting to show him off today.
I took pictures and may post one or two later ![]()
I was really far back in the Gym and it was pretty dark in there so these pics aren’t wonderful by any means but I have to post them anyway cuz I’m just so darn proud of my kid!!(he’s the cute one in the orange sweater!)

Sweet! I have to admit I was anxious for Dylan too-more for the audience reaction then how he would do. I think if we encouraged the kid he would go into standup-really. Thanks for being where I couldn’t be today honey!

Hi there… surfed on from BlogClicker and wanted to say your post brought back memories! My son did the comedy thing once, too - he slayed em’ with a Bill Engvall routine. He’s moved on to doing musical renditions of Disturbed in his high school years, however. Congrats on your talented son!

I’ve heard some of Dylan’s ‘knock knock’ jokes and they’re pretty funny! He
does have a flare for the dramatic…(hum, I wonder where he got that from??)
Talent scouts are on their way…haha. Good for Dylan. Tell him Grandpa
and I are proud of him for doing such a great job.
