Oh the frustration, the embarrassment. Nathan and I took the boys to the Dental School yesterday, the nurses wanted to meet Noah and see Brigs and Joshy too. Big mistake - my two toddlers get in the door and start running in two different directions. They didn’t know what to do with themselves, all that space with stairs to run up and down, an elevator, benches to jump off and land on each other, a coffee machine with tons of styrofoam cups! So while Nathan was introducing Noah around to all the ladies I was trying to keep the other two from literally destroying the reception area or going on the elevator. Suddenly Joshy sees the pop machine and exclaims “Mommy, I want some money!!” It was hilarious, I didn’t know that he even knew what money really was.
We got Brigs and Joshy up to the desk to say hi for a brief moment and one of the ladies smiles at Brigs my two year old. “Is that your baby Brigs?” she asked “What’s his name?” I cringed when I heard it come out of his sweet little mouth “SHUT UP!” he says. Thankfully his answer was muffled a bit and the lady didn’t catch on to what he actually said. Can you say embarrassed? I honestly thought I would die! “yes, his name is Noah!” I said - trying to cover a bit. LOL!
It’s amazing what it takes just to take the kids out for a few minutes, I’ve decided they will be housebound until they’re 16 for sure. :)
Trying to just get them suitably dressed to go out to the car is so much work I end up in tears quite often. We battle through coats, hats and socks only to get to footwear which is the worst because my kids are super picky about which shoes they want to wear. Joshy always wants sandals even in winter! Of course he doesn’t always get his way but if he wants sandals and you try boots on him they may go a-flyin’ across the floor. Once the three little ones are dressed, corralled into their car-seats and I get in the driver seat I always seem to question whether I ever have to let them out. It’s so nice to be in a space where they are restrained! LOL! (I am kidding, I love my kids so don’t call the authorities - I’m just a frustrated, tired Mommy).
