OK that FREAKED me out!!

Joshy just came running up to me in the other room with tears streaming down his face
“Mommy!!!!! Brigs isn’t moving!!!”
OK my heart lept and all I could think was that my two year old was unconscious on the floor or something and I started running through whatever emergency procedures I know while running into the playroom.
Then I see what Joshy meant by “not moving”, apparently Brigs was IN FRONT of the television and he couldn’t see his show!!!

another crisis overted…whew now I can breathe again.

Your Brother is NOT Evan!!

Our spunky 3 year old Joshy is totally in love with his new baby brother. He’s the supreme authority on anything “he thinks” that Noah might need. Unfortunately he keeps calling his brother Evan instead. Evan is his little cousin that came to visit us before Noah was born. Joshua thinks Evan is the cat’s pajamas and has apparently decided that Noah deserves to be called Evan instead! Way to go Liz and Kent for naming your baby something that Joshy deems the highest honor!!

Be Proud of Me

feel the burn

Last night I grabbed my brand new Nike cross-trainers and ducked out to the gym for a workout. This was the first time since the baby was born that I’ve actually had the chance (ie: motivation) to get my rear in gear and do something active. I was really scared initially, worrying that I wouldn’t be able to keep up with all those svelte young gals at the gym with their rock hard six pack abs and buns of steel. I looked in the mirror before I left and decided that humiliation aside I was gonna work out if it killed me. I want to be looking hot for my hubby by this summer and so I left with a pretty determined attitude. I didn’t know anyone at the class which was kind of good because as I told Nathan “I’m not there to make friends, I’m there to get a rockin’ body again!!” I ended up going to the mix-it-up cardio class where they can do anything from hi/lo aerobics to step class or boxercise. It ended up being a step class. I used to do step aerobics a few times a week (a couple years ago…um like 5 or 6 years to be exact). I had the comfort of seeing that several of the ladies there were beginners, I remembered some of the steps and felt more confident as the minutes passed by. I MADE IT THROUGH THE CLASS!! Ya baby!! 45 minutes worth of grueling workout and I didn’t even pass out! I was pretty proud of myself given that I haven’t done anything physical like that in so long. I’m totally excited to keep this up and continue to tame the beast (ie: my fat tummy). I know you’re all going to tell me that I just had a baby so be easy on myself but I just feel like now is the key transition time for me to get off the couch and get healthy! Anyway, it was a great night and I felt so invigorated on the way home. Today I did a workout tape at home for 45 minutes and Noah just smiled at me the whole time – I must be pretty great entertainment for a 2 month old!!! YIPEEE for HAPPY, HEALTHY ME!!!

Proud Moment

I have to admit that when my son told me that he was going to tell jokes in the talent show at school I was a bit concerned. Especially when I found out that they were going to be knock-knock jokes – it almost seemed like a recipe for disaster to me. I just didn’t want anyone to be mean to my baby boy and I was worried that he wouldn’t come off as funny. I pictured all those little talented kids up there who have their entire lives jam packed with lessons. I know my kid is talented, he’s just shy about it sometimes so I felt the fear for him this morning. He woke up an hour early for school and got ready – we dropped off my 3 year old and 2 year old and headed to his school with baby Noah in tow. The kids in his class did quite well, a few boys did a dueling guitar performance of “smoke on the water” – it was really good. There were kids playing piano, tap dancing, clogging etc.but I have to say one of the highlights was my son!! He was comfortable with the microphone, memorized his jokes and his delivery of them was bang on. He was animated and funny – even though the jokes weren’t great material the kid was awesome and everyone laughed and clapped for him. I was so proud to see my boy up there strutting his stuff! Afterwards a few parents came up to me and said they thought that Dylan did really awesome and that he was really great up there in front of all those people. I was beaming from ear to ear. Great job Dylan – you surprise me sometimes with your humor and charisma!!
After their class performance Dylan got to introduce his baby brother to his whole class, he is so great with his brother and loved getting to show him off today.
I took pictures and may post one or two later :)
I was really far back in the Gym and it was pretty dark in there so these pics aren’t wonderful by any means but I have to post them anyway cuz I’m just so darn proud of my kid!!(he’s the cute one in the orange sweater!)
dylanjokes still joking
