Giving Brangelina A Run For Their Money!
I got a phone call this afternoon from my son’s principal. Apparently someone came by and decided that Dylan’s new bike looked too good to pass up. They cut through the fence with wire cutters and took his bike that he’s had for maybe a few weeks now. My little guy is absolutely crushed, he finally gets the courage to learn to ride and feels some freedom and it all came crashing down around him today. He was beside himself when he called me to let me know and was soo concerned that Nathan would be upset because not only did they take Dylan’s bike but they took Nathan’s lock. I assured him that his Daddy would only be concerned about Dylan’s feelings and upset for him.
The principal spent the last hour of the school day driving Dylan around the communities nearby looking for the bike - I have to commend her for that. I’ve reported it to the police and now all we can do is comfort him and wait to see if it turns up. Likely a high school kid came by and decided that this would be a good bike to trash so I’m not really holding out hope that we’ll get it back. It’s just so violating to have something stolen from you. I’m so upset but mostly for the dissapointment that my little guy feels to have his new treasure taken away from him.
Any words of encouragement for Dylan would be so apprieciated, he’s truly crushed and upset.

I totally know how he feels. You can read about what happened to me and the kids at the park if you read the blog for July 23. It was a very bad day and I can’t think of anything to say to Dylan. It’s hard to have something of yours taken by someone else. I hope you get your bike back. Maybe it’s the same guy and when you find your bike I’ll get my purse! That would be awesome!

I was very sorry to hear about Dylan’s bike. I guess what we need to make sure Dylan remembers, is not that at age 10 his bike was stolen…. but that at age 10 he conquered his fears. Which is something that alot of adults haven’t been able to do! Dylan….. you can do anything you set your mind to. From riding a bike, to being a rock star. Believe in yourself, and your abilities. You can conquer not only your fears, but maybe someday………the world!!
